The glam squad assembled, the purple carpet rolled out, music played and our teen patients danced the night away at this year’s Lurie Children’s Prom – Shine Bright Like a Diamond. Recently, our Family Services department hosted a memorable night for our teenage patients. From makeup and wardrobe to entertainment and décor, our patients were treated to the full prom experience – offering them a moment to enjoy just being like any other teen. “My favorite part of the event was the dancing because it was so fun to see all the patients dance and have fun, ” says Olivia Ports, a patient who attended prom. “Prom is really important to all the patients and helpers because we all know what it’s like to be in the hospital, and you need things to look forward to so that you stay motivated to get better. I would love to thank the donors who helped make prom possible! It really does make such a big difference!”
Thanks to all those who helped contribute to this year’s event, “Shine Bright Like A Diamond Prom 2018”:
