Cal’s Angels Cycling Team Helps Fund Innovative Cancer Research

After losing Cal to leukemia at the age of 13, Cal’s Angels have devoted themselves to carrying on his legacy by funding research, raising awareness and offering moments of relief and happiness to children undergoing cancer treatment.

Throughout the organization’s 10+ year history with Lurie Children’s, Cal’s Angels has touched thousands through their various programs – bringing new hope and supporting research to help us get closer to breakthroughs that lead to cures. Their generous support will continue to make a life-long difference in the lives of our patients and families. Below are a few ways they are lending their support this year.

War on Wheels

This week, the Cal’s Angels War On Wheels team is completing a cross-country charity bike ride along the historic US Route 66 to raise more than $2.4 million to grant wishes, raise awareness and fund research for kids fighting cancer. With more than $200,000 raised, there is still more to do.

As they finish the 2,499-mile ride, you can help celebrate and help Cal’s Angels reach their goal! Join supporters, families, and the team of cyclists on Sunday, June 2 at Mt. St. Mary Park in St. Charles, IL to cheer on this fantastic accomplishment. With food, face painting and 103.5 KISS FM onsite, there will be fun for the whole family. Thank you to Cal’s Angels for their ongoing dedication to Lurie Children’s patients and families. Learn more about the organization here.
